Meet The artist
I've never met an animal that I didn't want to paint.
I'm Fiona Purdy and I have one of the most fun jobs in the world!
I get to spend my days doing something I truly love, creating paintings of beautiful pets & animals for their adoring owners all over the world.
I've been creating custom pet portraits for nearly 30 years, and working full time as a professional pet portrait artist since 2008.
My family moved from the US to New Zealand when I was eight. It was there that my love for animals and my passion for drawing & painting them took hold. New Zealand was a fantastic place to grow up, and I started painting other people's pets and horses while living there.
I moved to Scottsdale AZ, USA in the mid 1990's continuing to specialize in custom pet portraiture.
Most days you will find me painting at my easel, with my sweet dog Skye keeping me company.
I get to meet the most wonderful people and their sweet pets and horses. People that love their animals are the kindest, most caring people and it is so much fun and satisfying to work with them.
As a pet owner myself, I understand completely the deep bond and love that exists between us and our pets. I am humbled that something I create will keep our pets close to us and become a beautiful reminder of the pure love we have for each other.
To see the look of pleasure on a pet owner's face when they see the portrait is one of my greatest joys.
